PINK EIGA DVD Titles Now Available

by Rodney Perkins, December 30, 2008 6:03 AM

The enterprising folks at Pink Eiga have released the first two titles in a series of rare English-subtitled pinku releases: Shuji Kataoka's S&M Hunter (1986) and Osamu Sato's New Tokyo Decadence: The Slave (2007). The titles officially launch on January 14, 2009 but are available for purchase directly from Pink Eiga's site right now. S&M Hunter (depicted at left) was reviewed earlier in the year on Twitch; a review of New Tokyo Decadence is forthcoming. Needless to say, both films are offensive, weird and most importantly, very entertaining.

Tokyo Decadence Slave is insanely twisted... Did any of you get the bonus disc that came with the dvd... They did a voice over spoof on one of the films....

I'm definitely buying S&M HUNTER since the trailer looked hilarious. Not so sure about NEW TOKYO DECADENCE... I don't think Murakami's film needs a remake (or whatever this is supposed to be) and I'm wary of any pinku flicks made after the 80ies out of principle.

New Tokyo Decadence isn't really a remake. Like a lot of latter-day pinku, it uses similar themes to bigger movies to help sell it. I don't know if you have checked out the trailer but the movie really is crazy.
