by Andrew Mack, November 5, 2008 12:25 PM

The official web site for the live adaptation of Osamu Tezuka’s manga serial MW began sporting a new teaser trailer today. It features Hiroshi Tamaki as Michio Yuki looking all dapper and creepy at the same time.

When a top secret chemical compound called MW infects an island near Okinawa, the military is sent in to kill all the victims and cover up the incident. A survivor named Michio Yuki (Hiroshi Tamaki) grows up to become a highly-successful banker, but he is slowly being driven mad by the effects of MW. After committing a series of ruthless crimes to get revenge against the people responsible for the cover-up, he decides that the only way to truly get revenge is to unleash MW on the world and exterminate the entire human race.Nipponcinema

Well, I care and I voted for him so can it, you.

Anyway, I'm still a bit nonplussed; footage is fine, it's just I never really thought MW was that successful of a story. Its much too clunky for my taste and I think I'll have a harder time taking the story seriously seeing it on film (I won't say anything more specific than that until someone else who's read it wants to discuss its merits).
