Very good news here for fans of Mamoru Oshii and Ghost in the Shell. There was speculation early on that the upcoming Japanese DVD and BluRay releases of the re-animated version of the cyberpunk classic would include English subtitles but at the time we were told, no, the English referred only to the original version of the film that would come bundled with some of the BluRay box sets. But sometimes fortune smiles upon the impatient who don't want to wait for a domestic release, after all. The official listings are now out of the December DVD release and the DVD version - just a single disc, with only the reanimated 2.0 version, so no risk of confusing versions - clearly states that English subtitles are included. Yes, I'm about to buy Ghost in the Shell again.

I'm still thinking about getting the box set with the 1.0 and 2.0 version, it's pretty expensive but it's Ghost in the Shell after all... ;)
Naturally I'll go for the special edition, but as that contains the movie twice I am confused: is this the sixth or seventh time I'm buying it?
