Dear Dario:
Please, while you still have any glimmer of a future career left, you need to surround yourself with a few less yes-men and women selected purely based on the quality of their breasts and add a few more actual actors to your inner circle.
That is all.
Thank you.
(PS to Adrien Brody: Man didn't give you much to work with, did he? Sorry about that.)
You can see what I'm on about below the break.

So far Brody has not managed to fall into the black hole that contains Oscar winners; he has done some good work since he won for 'The Pianist'. Hopefully this film is not his death knell.
Why on earth have they hired the guy that does the voiceover for Rob Schneider movies? Dreadful.
Concerning the ample young women, it was always slightly endearing that they were rubbish in pretty much all of his movies in the 70s/80s. But yes, he probably does need a fresh approach now...
And I still really want to see this, albeit under cover of darkness.
Awfully generic trailer, i'm still willing to give Argento another chance, but it wouldn't surprise me at all if the film turns out to be bad.
What's the story behind an american cop working in Milan and obviously an american police chief or something?
Didn't give him much to work with?! He plays a character who a) sometimes does things that need to be done and b) often does said things in ways that aren't by the book! It's a gift of a role - like an enigmatic car of mystery wrapped around a lamp-post of a puzzle.
Yeah, there's nothing much there. Just a dude killing people. Dario's never done that before.
Despite the silly 'movie voice over' and the first 1/2 feeling like a generic Argento rip-off (self parody? nah, that was Mother of Tears), I'm still foolish enough to give this guy a chance. I'll see this.
He should stick to making films about INCREDIBLY SCARY GOTH GIRLS. I don't think he intended it that way but MOTHER OF TEARS was a laugh riot.
Since this was originally more labeled as a "promo reel" than as a "trailer" ...maybe there is still hope ...
As for the state of Dario Argento's art ...
Let's just say that, to my surprise, I also found "Mother of Tears" very amusing at times ... And I'll gladly take a "Japanese Goth Witch spin-off" over any numb murder detective thriller ... please ...
a pattern, a disease, an obsession....a SNOOZE!
