
Yes, the name has changed some since this sprawling crime epic was first announced and, yes, the current version is a bit unwieldy, but there's no denying that two part true crime biopic Public Enemy Number One is one of the big European film events of the year. After a shaky first day that saw Part One get beat at the box office by High School Musical 3 the film bounced back to take the weekend in France and both parts just played to major critical praise at the Tokyo International Film Festival. And why not? A brilliant cast anchored by Vincent Cassel - Canada's enormously under rated Roy Dupuis also stars - impeccable attention to detail and one of the most notorious criminals in history as the source material: What's not to love?
Well, with Part One now on screens in France - and, yes, they are coming soon to North America as well - the time has arrived to start pushing Part Two and the first trailer has just arrived.
