First Trailer Arrives For Mamoru Oshii-Supervised Anthology Film KIRU ~ KILL!

by Todd Brown, October 11, 2008 8:26 PM

[The Kiru ~ Kill trailer has now been added to the Twitch Player and is available below the break.]

Okay, for those who haven't been paying attention, here's the score: Ghost in the Shell director Mamoru Oshii is currently overseeing a four part anthology film titled simply Kill. In it four directors, including Oshii himself and Kenta Fuksasku, present the climactic final battle scenes to films which do not actually exist. So, you know, you get all of the violence without any of the tedious plot or character development. The film is about to have its world premiere at the Tokyo International Film Festival and if you can find the trailer below the break in the Twitch Player.

"you get all of the violence without any of the tedious plot or character development:"
This could easily describe Kenta Fukasaku's horrid BATTLE ROYALE sequel. Not looking forward to seeing more of Kenta's work.

^ I agree about the Battle Royale sequel, which was nearly unwatchable to me (hated it). Also this new anthology doesn't look exactly special either, although the concept is fun.

I got tired of this kind of things. It looks so empty.

I'm very much looking forward to Oshii's segment. Nobody does action quite like Mamoru Oshii, but it always supports an idea in his films, it's never for its own sake.

Therefore I'm very surprised he instigated this project in the first place...
Well, I'll just have to wait and see!

I hate BRII as well but Fukasaku redeemed himself with X Cross.

Is ASSAULT GIRL 2 a sequel to AVALON?

user-pic

I don't think it's directly linked but it's definitely got a similar look ...

Assault Girl 2 looks dam cool.
