It is one of the most heralded Japanese animes ever! And we've got less than a year until the second feature length Evangelion film comes out in Japan some time in the early Summer of 2009. It will be more anguishing months after that for the DVD release. This is only the second of four planned releases. Hurry the hell up... please.

I still need to see 1.0, any news on a US release?
i also have to see 1.0 first. But the news of the release for 2.0 is sweet... if not painful. Hate waiting.
Actually, don't hurry! Take your sweet time to get it right. One film a year or every two years is perfectly acceptable so long as the quality is there.
If 1.0 was any indication, the quality *isn't* there - unless you count the new bling bling-animation as such...
I'm still a firm believer of 'the faster it's completed the better it'll be'-notion when it comes to movies. It nicely gets rid off all of the unnecessary junk and leaves the core essence.
Although I think these films in question are just a moneymaking machine for Anno; haven't seen anything really worthwhile from him since shiki-jitsu for that matter.
