... Drill Bra Sisters. No word of a lie, it's straight from the mouth of Tokyo Gore Police director Yoshihiro Nishimura who told an audience at Fantastic Fest tonight that the script is currently being prepared and the film will shoot in early 2009. Fans of Machine Girl know exactly why this is a good thing ...

Problem is, like all the films from this team, it will be 5 minutes of awesome and 85 minutes of interminable filler. They should stick to making short films or wait until they get a budget to streth the cool bits out to feature length.
Have you seen Tokyo Gore Police Caterpillar? There wasn't a whole lot of filler in that. And I think BOTH of the movies are charmingly low-budget through the entire running times. I say - Keep 'em coming.
Haven't seen Tokyo Gore Police yet, although I really enjoyed Machine Girl on the big screen. Can't wait for future releases.
I also disagree with Caterpillar about the "filler" thing ...
Machine Girl was a blast throughout, seeing it amongst a crazy festival crowd of course added to the viewing pleasure in a very big way ....
When I first saw "Meatball Machine" maybe there was a bit of empty space, but when I later rewatched it on dvd it held up very nicely, I even liked it more ...
About "Tokyo Gore Police", well I haven't seen it yet, but it seems I don't have to wait much longer since the Brussels Cinema Nova is putting a little Japanese program together next week ... with TGP !!!!, but also with "Funuke - Show Some Love, You Losers!" (might go see it again), "Sukiyaki Western Django" (yes yes finally on the big screen), Studio 4°C's "Genius Party" (finally) , "Fine, Totally Fine" and lots of other cool stuff...
I'm sure gonna have me some fun next week :)
