Life is good for Darren Aronofsky right now. His latest flick, The Wrestler just won the big prize in Venice, screened to massive praise here in Toronto, and now it's been picked up for just a shade under four million dollars by Fox Searchlight. Though I certainly don't pretend to know any budget details on the film my hunch is that with this one purchase the film has already turned a profit for investors before having a proper theatrical release anywhere. So, good news for fans who are now assured of being able to see the film, and good news for Aronofsky who should now be able to roll into whatever he's got planned next with the stability and confidence that comes from success ...
