Poland's Platige Image Is TEACHING INFINITY

by Todd Brown, September 21, 2008 3:57 PM

Just yesterday Al was pointing the way to short film The Ark is these pages, that being one of the latest films from award winning Polish animation house Platige Image. Now, Poland may not immediately leap to mind when you go thinking of global animation powerhouses but Platige is, quite simply, one of the very finest CGI animation houses in the world, consistently turning out compelling work. The style used can vary widely from project to project - the company seems to take a certain amount of pride in giving their directors leeway to chart their own course - but there is always something distinctly Platige about them.

And while Al was posting about The Ark - pretty much simultaneously, really - I was on the Platige website checking out information about their latest, an atmospheric science fiction offering titled Teaching Infinity by directors Jakub Jabłoński and Bartłomiej Kik. It's beautiful work, very impressive stuff, and you'll find the teaser below the break in the Twitch Player. A feature soon, guys? Please?
