Fearing that I might never have the chance to catch this on nothing but the small screen at home here in Canada now everyone stands a chance of seeing Kiyoshi Kurosawa's Tokyo Sonata, perhaps even on the big screen thanks to Canadian distributor Maximum Film Distribution's unveiled a six picture deal yesterday. Maximum took Canadian rights to Toronto festival titles "Tokyo Sonata," "$9.99," "Country Wedding," "Laila's Birthday," "Serbis" and "Native Dancer." Two of these films have already been reviewed by Todd and Michael below and we featured an article about $9.99 earlier this year.
