Very fun news from the mouth of director Rian Johnson. After trying his hand at film noir (Brick) and the comedic con man film (The Brothers Bloom) Johnson says his next effort will be a dark science fiction project in the gritty Philip K Dick mold titled Looper. Time travel will be a factor and looking at what he's got to say about this I have no doubt that when Johnson references Dick he's referencing the real Dick as opposed to the Spielberg, Woo or even Scott Dick. The only thing tempering this bit of fantastic news? I was actually invited to the edit-bay session where Johnson told people this but couldn't go because I live on the wrong side of the continent.
