We've been covering this one for a while now and if the early teasers are any indication then Russia is about to make its first serious leap into the slasher pool. Yes, Russia has produced a lot of genre film recently, including a handful of horror pictures, but slashers have been notably absent up until the arrival of S.S.D. The set up fuses the ever popular kids-in-the-woods slasher motif with the equally popular (these days, anyway) 'found video' technique, taking it's collection of pretty young things out to a remote property wired up with closed circuit cameras that capture the entire spectacle as the group gets cut down in bloody fashion. It's very much a mainstream approach to the genre but it's also looking to be exceptionally well made with a few really legitimate jumps in the footage released so far.
