Has Lovecraft ever been done right in a feature film? I mean not okay but really, really right? Well, Spanish director Jose Luís Alemán is taking a stab at it with his upcoming feature La Herencia Valdemar and if the first images are any indication he's certainly got the look down. The legendary Paul Naschy has a role in this one and Spanish website Aullidos has the first trio of images.

Call of Cthulu's great, yeah, but not a feature ...
Best feature I can think of would be In The Mouth Of Madness, though that's not technically Lovecraft. Everything else has been a distinct 'meh' for me.
I really don't get all the love for Stuart Gordon's movies.

Supposedly The Thing at the Doorstep is coming - should be Gordon's next film. They were casting earlier this summer, and there's been some artwork floating around for a while. Would love to see it happen.
I've emailed the guys for "Cthulhu" a few times and they've confirmed that it's still coming to DVD sooner or later. I guess they're finishing up the festival circuit right now. I got this email June 25.
"Thanks for your interest in the film. We will have a limited theatrical this Fall and then should be on DVD shortly thereafter. Please check back to the website in a couple of weeks for an update.
Thanks for your patience.
