wow....that blew me away. Amazing animation, kinda happy Oshii isn't following the current 3d trend. The character animation especially is something i find very appealing, i'm not a fan of 3d character animation as it just looks too plastic for my taste. i know the 2d isn't the more "real" one but it just feels better to me, guess i'm odd.

Shame i can't understand Japanese but the music, voice acting and the amount of time that's alloted to characters just being and talking looks very very good. I'm still surprised Oshii is one of the only director's who's using animation in a mature way where characterdevelopment is what drives the story not big action scenes. Not to detract from the things happening over at Ghibli as they do the same but in a fantasy setting.

Just very happy that we animation fans have a lot worth looking forward too with Ponyo and this one. And of course the rumor that Takahata is also working on a new project...
