Soi Cheang's follow up to Dog Bite Dog is one that we've been following for quite some time and Shamo is finally due to hit DVD on June 16th. Shawn Yue stars in this Hong Kong / Japan coproduction based on a Japanese manga as a young man convicted of killing his parents and sent to prison where he is beaten and horribly abused by his fellow inmates until he learns martial arts and begins to fight back. By the time he emerges he is a vicious fighting machine intent only on finding his younger sister and carving out a name for himself in the fighting ring. ..hmm, that reminds me, i haven't been checking out new chapters for Shamo for a couple months :P
oh and people, if you like manly action type of stuff, then read the manga too. It's good and it's bound to be different (you just cant do the same stuff with a live action movie than in the manga)
