A press junket for the highly anticipated manhua adaptation Storm Warriors (previous known as The Storm Rider II) was open to the media at Bangkok last Wednesday where the Pang Brothers was at hand with the principal cast including Aaron Kwok, Ekin Cheng, Nicholas Tse, Charlene Choi, Simon Yam, and Kenny Ho, whom were showing off their nifty costumes. Check our last post on the character concept art here or below after the break for comparison. The resemblance is spot on.
According to Crienglish.com, the Pang Brothers said this martial arts/fantasy film is shooting in a completely digitalized realm and ninety percent of the scenes have used computer-animated effects. The total budget is around 100 million yuan, about 146,000 US dollars.
Filming will be completed within a week and then post production for the heavy CG effects will follow. It will hit the big screen across China and Hong Kong at the end of 2009.

Yeah, it must of been a typo from the press. The film budget is reported as US$12 million from an earlier source.
Yeah, I thought so too because less than 10 million for a movie of this scale is a bit ridiculous. Less than 200,000 is unthinkable. If they had really made this movie with a budget of only 146,000 I would shutter to think what it would look like.
isn't 10 yuan = 1 USD?
So they probably just left off three zeroes
