Grady Hendrix over at Kaiju Shakedown has been busily talking up new Korean animation Life Is Cool for the past week or so and today I decided to take a dip in the pool. As usual, Grady has not steered me wrong.

This one crept up rather quietly, being largely ignored by the usual Korean hype machine until it was pretty much on the eve of release, which seems a shame. The immediate hook is that it was created using the same rotoscoping technique used in Waking Life and A Scanner Darkly - one mighty compelling method when used well - but it looks to have a mood and tone all its own. I like.
