Neil Marshall's 'Doomsday' R1 DVD art and specs!

***UPDATE*** I sent a note to Neil asking him what was different about the 'unrated' cut and here's what he had to say. "Sadly there was no more gore left to put back in. We used every last drop of blood on screen! There is a bit more action in the castle and the rest expands the characters and paces the film a little better. What I can promise is that this new extended cut is a better version of the movie, just in terms of pacing alone. But see what you think..."

We like this film a lot.

The disc will include both unrated (1 Hour 53 Minutes) and theatrical (1 Hour 49 Minutes) versions of the film. Each will be presented in 2.35:1 anamorphic widescreen, along with English Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround tracks. Extras will include a commentary with Director Neil Marshall and Cast Members Sean Pertwee, Darren Morfitt, Rick Warden and Les Simpson, and 3 featurettes (Anatomy of Catastrophe: Civilization on the Brink, The Visual Effects and Wizardry of Doomsday, Devices of Death: Guns, Gadgets and Vehicles of Destruction).

I'm beginning to think that DVD releases with covers with the word 'Unrated' on them are overrated. I mean c'mon! If you've seen this film does it really matter that you call it UNRATED. Seems a bit redundant to me considering the content of this film. What, the nudity, char grilling, beheadings and viral outbreaks were not extreme enough? Which makes you wonder, what did Neil have to cut to get approved for theatrical runs? Bah, I'm still buying it.

Bluray for the win!

I absolutely loved this movie! Was lucky enough to get a mini poster signed by Neil Marshall, which I subsequently framed.

Commentary should be good - all his other ones have been fun so far.

Caught it last night. Fun indeed but it really just made me wish I was watching Snake Plissken instead.

Neil Marshall said there where a few character beats cut out. I've learend a long itme ago that "Unrated" dosen't mean there's anything spicier in the film, it could just mean that it's LONGER.
