Not only does Noboru Iguchi's Machine Girl arrive on DVD June 3rd but apparently she's a cheap date, too, Amazon currently offering the disc for under fourteen bucks. Having seen the film I can say that, yes, this is every bit as crazy and chaotic as the trailer would lead you to expect. It is sheer low budget, exploitative, splattery madness. And a whole lot of fun. Check the trailer below the break if you need to refresh your memory.

OMG! That is so bloody and weird, that i want to see it... Drill bra, omg!, he-he...
Every bit of fun as Todd makes it out to be. And it looks deceptively good for a low budget pic. Bloody good fun.
Very psyched for this...
I have such high hopes for this movie, I am probably setting myself up for a huge letdown but oh well. Can't wait for June now.
OK this looks like grindhouse, which one came first... the chicken or the egg?
I'll pre-order it, I just hope it doesn't disappoint me like Meatball Machine did... The trailer was insane and the movie left me a little flat, maybe it needs a second viewing.
No review yet, Tuan Jim, because the world premiere was only last week in Brussels.
However, it will be in Amsterdam next week, I'll watch it, and you can be damned sure a review will follow!
;-)
Aha, so we DID have the World Premiere at the BIFFF ...
Rest asured, this one leaves the somewhat uneven 'Meatball Machine' far behind. If you keep in mind that it is pretty low budget, this one sure delivers in spades ...
it's hilariously gory and campy kinky throughout and has very nice character(s).
Boy o did we fun :)
I had to order this one, if only for the tantalizing culinary ideas :)
nothing better to end a video night with THAT kind of movie !!!!!
I got it as a screener for festival consideration and I only review things I get that way if I have explicit permission to do so or if it's easily commercially available already somewhere else. This didn't fit either of those criteria so I didn't touch it ...
That's cool. I just thought I was missing something as far as dates and whatnot. Again, I'm a little surprised it's coming out in the US so quickly, but I'm looking forward to it.
It was produced by an US company (Fever Dreams / Media Blasters) so of course it gets a quick release in America. The same thing happens with all the anime that is now funded by American companies.
