How many awards required to officially dominate the Hong Kong Film Awards? How about eight, which is how many Peter Chan's The Warlords - a film that still lacks North American distribution despite starring Jet Li, Andy Lau and Takeshi Kaneshiro - took home, including best director for Chan and best actor for Jet Li. Other notable winners included Andy Lau as best supporting actor in Protégé, Siqin Gaowa as best actress for The Postmodern Life of My Aunt and to Mad Detective for best screenplay. Yau Nai-Hoi won a well deserved best new director award for Eye in the Sky.

I liked it too but I think a few other movies on the list were worthy of winning some of the awards that Warlords took. Warlords was good though. Glad Donnie Yen won for his AMAZING action choreography in Flash Point. There was no competition at all in that category since Donnie's choreography was just flat out awesome.
I always knew Jet Li was an underrated actor ever since I saw him in that heartwarming scene in Born to Defense. It's great to see him getting recognize as more than just his physical talents.
Amen to that on Donnie winning the best action choreography award. The choreography in Flash Point simply blew my mind away. Its one of the rare occasion that a fight scene would get my blood pumping with pure adrenaline excitement.
