We posted about the trailer for Tsui Hark's supernatural thriller Missing just yesterday but at the time it was only available in the crap-o-matic player at SINA, which hardly ever works for me or just about anyone I know so I wasn't able to actually see it at the time. Thanks to a pair of loyal Twitch readers who responded to my plea for help we now have the trailer available in the player here for easier perusal.
My thoughts? There's not nearly enough actual plot or performance in here to judge how it will turn out but there are some very nice shots in there. Perhaps it's the presence of Angelica Lee but it actually feels a lot like The Eye era Pang Brothers to me. You can check out the trailer in the Twitch Player after the break.

I remember hearing a while back that Tsui Hark was supposedly slumming it, um, working, on what was identified as yet another sequel to THE EYE. Is this film what became of that project?
I agree, not enough here to make an assessment, but I haven't given up all hope on Tsui Hark yet. I feel like he's got a couple of classics left in him yet. I base this feeling on precisely nothing, but there it is anyway.
Looks like the usual tale of boy meets sea monster, falls in love with sea monster, gets eaten by sea monster.
Hark still has all the burning and tenacity in him, just seems to be in need of the right project/script to fall along his way.
well it has a faith in pure innocence that's very early 80s tsui. not fanboy-appealing visual dazzle and extraordinary action/adrenaline-pumpin'...i hope it'll be a worthwhile "tonal" piece about love, loss and all that cheese :P
Recommend me something of Tsui Hark. Have seen Vampire Hunters. It was sooo goood. Open the world of Asian trash to me.
