I'd say I was disappointed, only I kind of figured this would happen from the day it was announced. Here's the story. First, young French directing duo Alexandre Bustillo and Julien Maury burst on to the international horror scene with their stunning debut film, Inside, which blew all of us Twitch folk away when it screened at the Toronto International Film Festival last year. It apparently also blew away the suits at the Weinstein Company / Dimension who promptly snapped the film up, only the then disappoint us all by sending it out straight to video. The supposed up side to the Weinstein deal was that the company enlisting the duo to helm the upcoming remake of Hellraiser, a move that instantly gave that film some needed esteem in our eyes. Then came word that the remake had been delayed due to Dimension bringing in new writers to re-do the Bustillo / Maury script and now Bloody Disgusting have confirmed that the French duo are off the project entirely, though it's not clear at this point whether they walked away or were dropped by the producers. Sigh.
