A trailer and two TV spot has finally arrive online for Shaolin Girl, a Japanese spin-off to Stephen Chow's hit comedy Shaolin Soccer. More over-the-top Kung Fu action ensures once again but this time around, its combining the sport of lacrosse and Kou Shibasaki (Dororo, Battle Royale) is taking the lead role instead of Stephen. Lam Tze-Chung and Tin Kai-Man, who played Weight Vest and Iron Shirt in Shaolin Soccer, return with Kitty Zhang (CJ7) and an all-Japanese cast. Here's the synopsis:
Shaolin Girl centers on a young female kung fu teacher, Rin (Kou Shibasaki), who must take over her grandfather's dojo. In order to prepare herself, she travels to China for 3,000 days of grueling Shaolin kung fu training. On her return to Japan, she works to rebuild the dojo and joins her university lacrosse club, putting her considerable physical prowess to work for the team.
The theatrical release date in Japan is on April 26th. You'll find the trailer and two TV spot after the jump.

This is a must see, clearly. Is Chow involved at all though?
From my understanding, Stephen Chow serve as a consultant for Shaolin Girl and he must have some say on the casting.
Thanks. It looks good, I'll definitely see it.
