Though not stated requirements of the movement there are two things that can generally be taken for granted when approaching a film made under the strict limitations of the Dogme 95 Manifesto. First, it will almost certainly look bad. Second, it will be very serious. Neither of these things are true of Sabi's Dogme-certified short film I Fucking Hate You. First of all, this thing is absolutely gorgeous, so much so that I'd never have even considered that it might be a Dogme picture until I spotted the certificate proudly displayed on the website. Sabi, clearly, has a magician's touch when it comes to capturing light and frames his shots impeccably. This thing isn't just gorgeous for a Dogme film, it's flat out gorgeous, period. On the second front, while the film is driven by a one man's awkward attempt to hold on to a long since dissolved relationship - and thus is mining some fairly serious and potentially tragic ground - is does so with a charmingly awkward, absurd sense of humor. Yes, I like this film rather a lot.
There's no proper trailer available just yet but if you visit the website you can find a behind the scenes video that includes a significant amount of footage. Go ogle.
