We've covered this project rather a lot over the past year and with the first film already out in theaters and the release date for the second edging closer there is a new theatrical trailer for Swedish produced crusades epic Arn: Riket Vid Vägens Slut now available. This is the second entry in a sprawling adaptation of a popular series of novels that is planned as a trilogy of films that will then be further expanded for television play and the companies involved have pumped a huge amount of money into making sure that this epic is truly epic. Looking forward to it? You bet. Find the new trailer below the break in the Twitch Player.

Well, it does look nice, but another "ancient, epic battle" movie?

This thing (especially towards the end) looks like almost a shot for shot remake of Braveheart. I use "shot for shot" sort of tongue in cheek, but c'mon: "FREEEEEE DOM!" and also the shot with the camera looking upward at a battle sword stuck in the ground.

Meh. Kind of lame if you ask me.

Arn is an adaptation of JAN Guillou's Book (Knight Templar Trilogy), i saw the movie in Norway, is not like Braveheat :)

O my God - please Twitch, you was always good and profesional site.

This is not a trailer to Arn - Tempelriddaren - which had premiere about 3 months ago but to adaptation of second book of this author Jan Guillou with title Arn - Riket vid vägens slut which will have premiere 22 august 2008 :)

Please check this and edit your news :)

I'm sure it's not exactly like Braveheart. My point is only that these grand, epic battle scenes are getting a bit tiresome. They aren't that grand or awe inspiring anymore.

Someone needs to make one that does something new and interesting. As opposed to a bunch of guys on either side of a field. One group is usually sinister and somehow shrouded in mystery. The other side is outnumbered and scared, but their leader give an inspirational speech on horseback (that there's no way more than the first row or two of people can hear him - or her if it's Elizabeth). Then the two sides run at each other and then we cut to a frenzied edit of several smal skirmishes within the battle (usually focussing on a few of our main characters). I'm sure there's a film maker out there who do this same idea but by adding something new and different. Stylize it somehow so it's fresh.
