Yes, kids, you read that right. David Howard's Flick, a loving ode to the drive in classics of yesteryear, casts Faye Dunaway as a tough talking, one armed cop from Memphis on professional exchange in Wales where she must track down the undead corpse of a 1950's rockabilly teen brought back from his watery grave by the awesome power of AM radio and bent on wreaking bloody revenge on those who did him wrong in life. I caught this one back when it played at the AFM in November but was asked to keep quiet about it at the time but am free to speak up now that the first trailer has arrived on the scene.

Howard's got an excellent eye and fills the film with some truly striking visuals thanks to his liberal use of color filters and off kilter angles. Throw in a fairly liberal sprinkling of blood - bearing in mind, however, that this is very much a throwback to 1950's cult film and not meant as a modern day bloodbath - a weirdly compelling creature, and a very solid cast bolstered by the magnetic pull of Dunaway's wooden prosthetic and you have the makings of a tidy little cult film.
