Before I watched it, I had no idea where Justice League - The New Frontier fit into the superhero universe. As a kid, I was always more attracted to the Stan Lee comics -- Spider-Man, Incredible Hulk, etc. -- than the Superman / Batman / Justice League books.
But this, I like.
It starts in an alternate universe, with the dying days of the Korean "conflict" in the early 1950s serving as the springboard for the creation of the Justice League. All the masked heroes are here: Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, Martian Manhunter, The Flash. The animation looks very good; it's at the high end of the 'direct to video' level. And the story clicks along in good fashion.
Again, I'm no expert on this stuff, but I thought it was solid, brisk entertainment, definitely worth a rental if you're inclined toward this kind of thing, and maybe a purchase. The two-disk special edition is available today from Warner Home Video.
