RAMBO. Tasty.

by Todd Brown, January 30, 2008 2:01 AM

So ... I've been doing some writing for Canadian cable net Showcase's blog for the past few weeks, reviewing mostly stuff that's more mainstream than what I tend to look at here and this week's topic of discussion is Sylvester Stallone's Rambo. My deal with Showcase says I can't simply repost things written for them here but I can say that the film is really surprisingly good, a pure eighties throwback, yes, but one that knows exactly what it wants to be and executes it pretty much flawlessly. It's also enormously violent and doused in blood. Head over here for my much longer take on it.

I loved the mindless violence this film had to offer. If you're going in for some sort of metaphysical revelation, then prepared to be disappointed, otherwise get ready for some testosterone pumping fun.

BTW Todd, according to the following chart, this film had the highest kills and kill rate of all 4 movies (you think?) at 236 killed at a rate of 3.04/minute

I actually find it hard to believe that it ONLY had that many kills...
