Every inch a major blockbuster, Peter Chan's The Warlords has one of the highest profile casts ever assembled in Chinese language film, featuring massive stars Jet Li, Andy Lau and Takeshi Kaneshiro. The period war epic features stunning cinematography and topped the local box office for weeks before finally being bumped by Feng Xiaogang's The Assembly this week. The trailers impress, critical response has been strong and while the film will be hitting Western screens soon there's no need for impatient fans to wait. The Hong Kong DVD hits February 4th and, while region coded, it does feature English subtitles.
