Fox Searchlight lights up Clark Gregg’s Adaptation of Palahniuk’s CHOKE!

by Andrew Mack, January 23, 2008 7:27 PM

Good news for those waiting to see Choke. Fierce negotiation tactics, possibly taking other studio execs outside into the Park CIty, Utah snow and giving them a face wash, have landed the North American and almost worldwide rights Clark Gregg's adaptation of the Chuck Palahniuk novel Choke with Fox Searchlight.

Actor-director Gregg's feature debut, which he adapted from "Fight Club" author Chuck Palahniuk's novel, follows a sex addict (Sam Rockwell) who fakes choking in expensive restaurants to worm his way into the lives of their rich patrons. When his insane mother (Anjelica Huston) reveals the shocking truth about his father's identity, he enlists friends to seek out the full story before his mother loses her mind completely.

The book was pretty damn entertaining.

Can't wait to see what direction they take the story to.
