First Footage From Yankovsky's ROCK HEAD (Каменная башка)!

by Todd Brown, January 16, 2008 5:54 PM

We've been eagerly anticipating the arrival of Rock Head - the new action-drama from Sword Bearer director Phillip Yankovsky - for some time now, posting a gallery of very impressive stills just last week, and now the first footage has arrived online. Yeah, I love how this guy shoots film ... the footage is included in an extended interview with the film's star - and former heavyweight boxer - Nikolay Valuev. There's quite a lot of it included, it looks simply fantastic and for those wondering how the athlete turned actor would acquit himself, he looks quite good. And still monstrous. My god, this is a large man. Valuev plays a former boxer gone amnesiac trying to piece his life back together while on a mission for revenge.

You'll find the footage after the break!

I don't usually go in for boxing related films, but this one has me intrigued. The shooting looks great - and Valuev looks like 3 or 4 of me! YIKES. I would not want to even come in close proximity to one of those fists - even in a fake fight, let alone a ring. Colour me curious.
