There seriously must be something in the water in Chile right now. Never really much of a film producing country in the past there is one serious explosion of young Chilean film makers turning out genre films right now. Nicolas Lopez has his superhero flick Santos coming down the line, Ernesto Diaz's Mirageman hits screens there in January, Sebastian Silva takes and artier approach with his recent La Vida Me Mata, and Jorge Olguin has a pair in post, one of which that boasts Guillermo Del Toro as a producer. And now here's another to add to the list: sci-fi comedy Chile Puede. It hits local screens in early 2008 and the trailer boasts some truly impressive production values. And here I always had Argentina pegged as the big film power in South America ...
