Director Fernando Meirelles may not be sitting in the director's chair himself for this one but his fingerprints are still all over it. Meirelles, of course, first built his name internationally with the hugely acclaimed - and deservedly so - Brazilian crime drama City of God and steps into the producer's role for this, the follow up project, City of Men. It's coming soon to US shores and the domestic trailer for the film has just arrived. Once again, this tale of youth wasted and gone violent in the slums of Brazil looks to be potent, powerful stuff. The trailer is embedded after the break.

I can't wait for this movie. I loved the tv series and this looks like a great follow up.
Lets see if it can live to the expectations, City of God's shadow can be very very big.
Very true. I have the series but haven't watched it all yet.
Isn't one of the leads in this the kid who played the young thug in City of God?
