Ehm... well, that title says it all, basically.
"Variety" states that Guillermo Del Toro will be more than majorly involved in a movie version of sixties Brit spy-slash-science-fiction television series "The Champions". The plot of the series concerned a team of secret agents who survived a plane crash and were given superpowers by a mysterious civilization.
United Artists will be the distributor.
Never ever heard of either the ITC series or Del Toro's interest in it, but Guillermo has Midas' Hands these days and I fully expect him to milk this concept for all it's worth!
Dammit - is this going to be before or after "At the Mountains of Madness?" I need another good Lovecraft fix!
I dont know what I would think of watching this now...
But I was a big fan of this British TV show when it was brought to U.S. tv.
It was very good and it would make a very good remake movie for today.
Well...
Whichever it's going to be we will get glimpses of a mysterious civilization. And with Guillermo Del Toro that makes me very happy! I like his taste of mysterious civilizations and he always manages to put one or two of those in his films.
