First Stills From Bondarchuk's INHABITED ISLAND!

by Todd Brown, November 14, 2007 3:05 AM

We first wrote about Fyodor Bondarchuk's upcoming adaptation of the Strugatsky Brothers Inhabited Island back in March and our enthusiasm hasn't dipped since then. Why not? Well, first, Bondarchuk is one of the best in Russia's current generation of directors, his 9th Company just a stellar piece of work, and the idea of the man being given a healthy budget to tackle a large scale sci fi project is exciting. Second, the novel comes from the same pens that provided the story for Tarkovsky's Stalker, which should be all I need to say about that. Sinc ethat first writing we've found creature concept drawings, we've found behind the scenes footage, and now - courtesy of Bondarchuk's Art Pictures production company, we have the first official stills.
