First Footage From Kim Ji-Woon's THE GOOD, THE BAD, AND THE WEIRD Arrives!

by Todd Brown, November 10, 2007 8:35 AM

No doubt about it, South Korea has been in a slump since The Host and if anything is going to snap the nation out of it, it will either be this film or Cahn Wook Park's upcoming vampire feature. This one? It's te new western from Kim Ji-Woon, director of A Bittersweet Life and A Tale of Two Sisters. Kim's a technical monster who doesn't have a dud in his filmography - nothing even close - and the idea of the man doing a full on western with one hell of a cast - Lee Byung Hyun! Song Kang Ho! That guy from Musa! - is more than a wee bit exciting. And now we can finally get a look at some footage thanks to the Korean nightly news and the wonders of YouTube ...

(The period motorcycle, "helmet", and goggles strongly recall Sammo Hung in MILLIONAIRE'S EXPRESS/SHANGHAI EXPRESS. Maybe it's just a coincidence, but I'd prefer to think it's entirely intentional.)

'That guy from Musa' brung the lolz. Looking like sure-fire dynamite...it's been at the top of my interest list for a while and safe to say it's not moving.

Haha, THE GUY FROM MUSA! I think his name is Jung Woo-sung, much easier for me to remember than THAT GUY FROM A BITTERSWEET LIFE haha
