Been a little while since we've done a DVD roundup of new Asian titles but there are a flurry of good ones either just arrived or just over the horizon, so here we go ...
Up first is Oxide Pang's The Detective, a supernatural thriller starring Aaron Kwok. Trailer's great, Oxide is the better of the two Pangs, and the word is that this is actually quite good. DVD rolls out November 22nd, is English friendly and is also region free so no special equipment required.

Next? A brand new and MUCH cheaper Hong Kong edition of Jumong, the hugely acclaimed and massively popular Korean historical epic. Previous editions out of Korea and the US broke the show into blocks but this set features the show entire run - 81 episodes - with English subtitles for just a hundred and fifty of our freshly mighty Canadian dollars. You yanks have to pay more. Suckers.

Next? Monkey Magic! The film adaptation of the hugely popular - and freshly revived - Japanese TV show based on the Journey Into The West . I've not seen this one myself but I know a lot of people - particularly from the UK - who absolutely swear by the original incarnation of this as it seems to have been a childhood phenomenon for a lot of our readers and word is this new version captures that spirit quite well.

And, finally, Epitaph. We've been covering this one for a while as it seems to be a long-awaited return to form for Korean horror. Trailer's impressive, reviews have been good, and the English subtitled DVD releases November 29th.
