The Forbidden Kingdom pics

I have mixed feelings on this one. While it's great to see these two legends pair up on screen and hopefully have a couple of fights while their at it I can't get but mildly depressed over what kind of film this is. I would love to see those two powerhouses duke it out in a semi serious or a comedy action film but also a film that would be purely a Hong Kong production. This got mediocre kids fair written all over it, plot wise, but I hope they pull something off that's both fun and entertaining but without stooping to sugar coating the whole thing in gooey syrup for the kids. Oh how I miss the days of kids adventure films like The Goonies, Explorers and The Monster Squad where the filmmakers didn't talk down to it's audience. Now it's all safe and cuddly for the PC crowd. Meh.
But what do I know.
A few pictures have surfaced from The Forbidden Kingdom, showing Chan and Li in action and a group photo of the cast. Looks alright but too soon to tell I guess.
Check them out below.

Chan has commented that the film is not so good.

Huge plus that Chan is doing Drunken Boxing. That'll make it watchable no matter what. But yeah, these two should have met in a Hong Kong production. On the other hand The Lion King was pretty much the last great Disney-film in my opinion, so it might work.

I'm going to keep fooling my self until it hits.

Q: Are they ever going to subtitle the version of Journey to the West from the '90s that I liked (http://us.yesasia.com/en/PrdDept.aspx/code-c/section-videos/pid-1003221263/)?

A: No. It's China. Learn Mandarain.

Rebuttal: Why?!!!!!!!!!
