Website and Trailer For Dimitri Karakatsanis’s SMALL GODS

We've been noting the coming genre booms in France and Scandanavia for the past while now and it looks as though we've got another country to keep an eye on, albeit for a slightly different reason. Belgium has a long cinematic history, if not the most prolific, and it appears that there's a crop of young, stylish Belgians poised to break internationally. We've commented a fair bit on Koen Mortier's Ex Drummer recently and today Boyd van Hoeij ran a review of Dimitri Karakatsanis’s Small Gods on his European-Films.net and it sounds like another fascinating piece of work. A 'demented road movie' that began life as a concept for a horror film before morphing into something else entirely the movie tells the story of a woman kidnapped from hospital following a car wreck that killed her young son and taken on a road trip in a beaten up camper. There are a few influences at play but I see a bit of Christoffer Boe in the trailer. Very nice.
