Three new high-res character poster for Peter Chan’s US$40 million war epic The Warlords, starring Jet Li, Andy Lau and Takeshi Kaneshiro, has been unveiled to coincide with the screening of the 6 minute preview at the 64th Venice Film Festival. Among those that attended the screening of the preview was festival’s artistic director Marco Mueller, who got this to say about it:
“I am very familiar with Peter Chan’s works,” said Mr Mueller, “but the preview gives me a radically different sensation. Its visual dynamics show that Peter has scaled new heights this time. Jet Li also turns in a totally fresh performance: he still fights most beautifully, but the different levels and nuances of his acting will be a welcoming surprise to his fans. All the other actors also do a great job. I’m sure the film will be superb.”
The martial arts/drama film opens across Hong Kong and China sometime in December.
Wow, this film looks truly epic. Impressive trailer. Great cast. I don't why Jet Li even bothers making films in North America. His Asian films are always vastly superior.
I look forward to seeing this.
