First Still From Sylvain Chomet's L'ILLUSIONISTE!

by Todd Brown, September 19, 2007 2:11 AM

There are a handful of directors that I like to check in on from time to time just to see what they're up to and if there's anything new that may be gleaned. One of those directors is Triplets of Belleville helmer Sylvain Chomet, surely one of the most distinctive animators working today, and a trip to his company's website today turned up the very first still from his upcoming animated feature L'Illusioniste. The film isn't due for release until 2009 but Chomet and his crew of animators are hard at work putting the script by legendary French comic Jacques Tati down in visual form. You can find a larger version of the still by hitting the link below and visit the Django Films website for word on Chomet's upcoming live action debut.
