The Replicants Live. BLADE RUNNER: THE FINAL CUT To Premiere at Venice

by Todd Brown, August 3, 2007 10:21 AM

Oh my. Sometimes I feel like I live on the wrong continent. The much speculated, much talked about Final Cut of Ridley Scott's seminal Blade Runner has just been added to the program of this year's Venice Film Festival. The fact that they'll be getting a fresh new print of the film is enough to inspire seething jealousy, the fact that it's this brand new version, rebuilt and reworked by Scott to match his own original goals and plans ... owie.

I'll console myself with the ridiculous five disc set - just announced on Blu-Ray and HD to go along with the previously announced conventional DVD set - of this in December but that's a loooong way away ...

Got my order down for the Blu Ray mega set.
Funnily enough I've never really liked the film but I've tried and tried. I do however appreciate the look and the mythology it holds.

I have waited years to be able to get hold of the original theatre version (the one I actually prefered).

After the complete dissapointment at the directors cut DVD offering (poor quality, no extras, etc), I can't wait for the five disk bonanza to make it over to the UK.
