When news first broke on Kaz Kiriya's upcoming sophomore feature film Goemon details were sketchy at best, but Don Brown at Ryuganji speculated that the Taka Ichise film would likely be based on the life of 16th century ninja-bandit Ishikawa Goemon. Clever man, that Don Brown. That speculation has now been confirmed by Mark Schilling over at Variety Asia. The film is shooting now and, after completing a solid year of scheduled post production work, should be ready for release in early 2009.
