Grady Hendrix is a bad, bad man. Either that or I'm just jealous that he got hold of the first stills from Mad Detective before I did even though I've been asking very nicely for a couple weeks now. This is the latest from Hong Kong action auteur Johnnie To, a film produced somewhat on the sly while everybody was fixated on Triangle and the seemingly never ending production of The Sparrow. It marks To's reunion with a pair of his favorite collaborators, co-director and screenwriter Wai Ka-fai and star Lau Ching-Wan. It is slated to premiere at this years Toronto International Film Festival and I'll be there, front and center. Damn straight.

Looking forward to this one. Lau Ching-Wan's great!
Cool beans. Hope to see this as well.
Just read the article that was linked-To believes it's his best film in recent years? Wow, IMO To has made 3 phenominal films in a row-E, E-2, and EXILED-to hope that this is as good as or even better is a wet-dream.
YEAH BABY. To is probably the only director to awaken my sweetness these days (save MIIKE of course). Can't wait for this one.
Thanks Todd for this bit of news. Definitely waiting to see this as I've liked all of the Johnny To/Milky Way films thus far. I'm also hoping that the anthology "Triangle" comes out soon (if it hasn't already).
The next Johnnie To with Chow Yun Fat, it s a action movie !
