He has said many times that this would be his next film but Quentin Tarantino is a man who usually talks the talk but doesn't walk the walk when it comes to future projects. Inglorious Bastards has how ever been on his plate the longest after Kill Bill but recent reports have wondered if he will do that as a theatrical feature or as a TV series.
His film gets his name from the Enzo G. Castellari 70's warsplotation film starring Bo Svenson and Fred Williamson and other than the name and the period the films have little in common. Here our heroes have are trying head to Switzerland to escape military imprisonment and the war but end up volunteering to steal a Nazi warhead for the French Underground. I haven't seen this myself but the DVD cover features a naked chick shooting a machine gun so I'm there.
Now is your chance to get the original film on DVD via Denmark, unavailable in the US, where today it's being released on a 2 disc special edition.
This release presents the film uncut, in 1.85:1 anamorphic widescreen and 2.0 Dolby Digital Mono, both English and Italian. There is also an interview with the director and the composer of the film along with trivia, trailers, stills and stuff. A great looking package for next to nothing.
Head over to Laserdisken.dk to order.

Great news! This is a wonderfully sleazy, trashy movie; very entertaining. Now I just have to bone up on my Danish so I can figure out how to register and order on that site ...
I've ordered from there in the past - not too tricky. Their customer service was helpful (to me, anyway). Awesome that this is out and readily available - I've always wanted to see it...
Thanks for this bit of news Swarez! I never realized that there was an original "Inglorious Bastards" movie. I don't think the Tarantino movie is going to be a remake of this one, I thought it was a homage to The Dirty Dozen, The Great Escape and other WWII action/thrillers. I would definitely love to see this but I don't have the necessary converter for PAL. Well at least the movie is in English.
Dude i want this dvd edition so badly. The only problem is that i don't speak danish worth a crap. Is there another way to buy this edition somewhere online that is in standard English or, better yet: Teach me Danish!!!
Kungfueurotrash. Just email them. They speak english and should be able to accommodate you. This is a store run by movie nerds like us and I've been to the brick and mortar store and I speak very little danish but had no problem.
this flick is entertaining as hell and if anyone needs to wet yer whistle waiting for it I'd recomend watching The Losers, AKA: Nam's Angels (1970) and then Vigilante (1983) because if these two movies had a baby it would be Inglorious Bastards!
