And apparently the film is very, very good. Wisekwai rated it a 9/10 and the film just landed itself a positively glowing review over at Variety Asia and any fight film that generates positive press from mainstream critics has got to have something going on. The film is the solo directorial debut of Art of the Devil 2's Kongkiat Khomsiri with Tears of the Black Tiger director Wisit Sasanatieng on board as art director. All signs are that this is a serious drama built around some boxer characters with the fighting left gritty and ultra-realistic rather than a gymnastic freak show light on story. Not that anything's particularly wrong with the latter - god knows I've got lots of those titles in my own library and love them to bits - but, you know, I'm just saying.

Even in Thai trailers you can't escape the Requiem For a Dream soundtrack, even though it's a copy.
