Peter over at GhibliWorld.com has been a good friend to us here at Twitch for a while, kicking us tasty bits of news and offering to help cover events in his part of the world, such as the upcoming Venice Film Festival. Today Peter pointed us in the direction of a fascinating new piece he posted up on his site recently, an extensive - and I mean extensive - interview with Gualtiero Cannarsi, the man responsible for the Italian translations and dubs of every Studio Ghibli picture released in Italy since his predecessor royally botched the job on Princess Mononoke. Now, Cannarsi is a man who most of us will never have heard of and most will never even come across his work but this is a fascinating look into how this process works behind the scenes and well worth a read.

Good to see we're so buddy-buddy with Ghibliworld. I've been visiting that site for longer than Twitch to be honest...
@Ardvark: That's rather flattering! ^_^
@Swarez: Valid point, though most of our visitors are rather "die-hard", at least those taking the time to read the complete interview. Which is why I decided to use the Japanese names (just like Gualtiero Cannarsi does). Still, you're making me second guess. Perhaps I should change it...
I think that just putting the english translation behind the Japanese name should be enough.
Flippin big interview though.
