...with English Subtitles.

You get a sense then, of why it's always useful to have people send stuff in and hunt around to play their part in how well Twitch will ever manage to completely grasp all editions, all languages, all the happenings around the globe. I would have hoped we would have know about this some time ago, seems not...still, it's an unexpected source for this kind of film, usually they don't issue with English Subtitles in Italy, but Raro has done so very frequently.

Officially said to have come out on May 2nd 2007, with English Subtitles being the main bonus from my perspective (also contains some small interviews it seems), this is Tsukamoto's latest finding an unexpected (but strangely predicatable) home at RaroVideo - a truly great company from Italy who've handled his work in the past. Many sites aren't up-to-date on the specifications, but Raro‘s own forum and site confirms, "Per i sottotitoli abbiamo pensato di soddisfare i clienti italiani con l'audio italiano [Italian Audio / Dub] e quelli di lingua inglese con i sottotitoli inglesi [English Subtitles]."

Now, one or two to add : one Italian DVD site's showing a slight delay until the end of the month (that's DVDLand.it - I've just used them for some Fernando Di Leo discs issued by Raro), most retailers are showing it in stock now for between 17 and 22 euros plus postage. Hard to make a recommendation of where you should buy it from, the best tip it to go to Google.it and search the title as a phrase, add the term DVD. Then you'll need to hunt around and make your choice(s) according to what you'll pay in postage, how happy you are with the price of the item and so on; Product Code is RVD 01735 if it helps. Raro also sell directly from their own site, but for me it always crashes if I try to go in top-down, but this page below works - it's their shop.

Cheapest price I've seen is 16.90 Euros* at RaroVideo‘s subpage (MinervaClassic is the Parent Company).
*plus 8 euros postage to me in the U.K for example, and they accept Paypal too.

Nightmare DetectiveLatest Post has trailers; extensively covered here at Twitch by The Gomorrahizer.

There's also a German DVD of this film coming out in June. Seems to only have German subtitles, though, so nevermind. The same goes for Miike's BIG BANG LOVE by the way.

Logboy, first of all "mucho gracias!!" for the link to Raro Video with regard to ‘Nightmare Detective.' Upon linking to their webpage I noticed that it is English friendly, there is abutton that translates pages to English. Also, I would think that either Diabolik.com or Xploitedcinema.com might consider importing this to their stockpiles.

Looks like I'll be ordering it from them in two weeks then!

yes, it's on ebay - at 22 euros plus unspecified (outside italy) postage.

i would never recommend, despite how powerfully it displays a wide range of good, ebay for a first port of call for anything other than to see exactly that - a wide range of varying goods from across the globe. with ebay there's too much room for now knowing entirely where you stand, and as a source it's often very quickly outdone by official ones. why not use what it took me a good half an hour to find? the cheapest price and the most direct official, safe source is raro's own shop.

for those living in the UK, i would expect people to either be aware or to be warned that for many years they've been directly watched by HMC&E;- i had this confirmed to me on the telephone some years back and have heard stories since which continue to confirm it. ‘nightmare detective' would be fine with customs folk, but as with many stores that stock a variety of good from different countries, and although there's always a different range of requirements form buyer to buyer, you'll pay a premium for access to a range in one place, and more importantly for their expertise.

we know ‘nightmare detective' is out, who's issued it, and in which country.

This video on this DVD has field-blending. Highly annoying and amateurish. Boo, RaroVideo. Boo.
