Ahhh... Beautiful Busan. Home of one of best beaches in the country, Haeundae; the largest harbor city in Korea, and one of the most important 'film centers' in the country. But it's not all so nice, there's something looming in the underground. Something rotten, bloody, violent.
Choi Ho's 사생결단 (Bloody Tie) received almost unanimous praise from critics when it released earlier this year, and thanks to Hwang Jung-Min and Ryu Seung-Beom's star power, it went on to do quite well at the box office too. The film continues one of the new trends in Chungmuro: that of taking film noir tropes and adapting them into something that still can feel fresh, or at least interesting. But beware, this is not the kind of classy, super stylish affair Kim Ji-Woon's 달콤한 인생 (A Bittersweet Life) became. It's nasty, quite violent, and it's not afraid of getting dirty. We need some variety, don't we?
I can't say when, but this is getting a long review sometime soon [if you're wondering about the lack of recent reviews, blame it all on the damn clowns. Coming later this week]. In the meantime, preorder is already up, and the DVD will release near the end of the month. Last year we had the crying fist, this time it's the wallet...

is there any chance that this will get a limited edition release at some point down the road? ie, is there any reason to hold off on this release?
ah, i remember watching the trailer for this... i'm more certain of my interest in this than i ever was for 'blood rain', 'running wild' and 'typhoon' which i didnt end up buying... yep, looking forwards to this and its only a couple of weeks away now. nice. preorder coming up...
Don't think there's going to be any LE, so I'd say you can safely go for this.
